Mario's Galactic Adventure Trailer Debuts, Revealing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Actors
Nintendo and Illumination shared the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. This occurred during a dedicated Nintendo presentation that centered on the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the outer limits of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a fresh princess character and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the son of the King of the Koopas.
A Space-Faring Quest Drawing from Classic Games
Similar to the games from the Wii period that serve as its inspiration, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. On his epic voyage, he will encounter once more some well-known personalities, including the Luma, a fan favorite from the previous film.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who seemingly commands metallic abilities. Notably, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also includes nods to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Star-Studded Voice Cast Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The movie will welcome back of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to embody Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
A Big Year for Mario
The upcoming Mario film is planned to debut around the time of the four-decade milestone of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his allies.
The company has three new games officially announced for that year, such as Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Release Date Confirmed
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
