Unveiling a Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have discovered plenty of engaging creations from small studios. Yet, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game features a hero that is actually a dung trying to travel to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is simple: just use a one button to leap. Throughout numerous stages, encounter mini-bosses and unlock a shop to purchase customizations for your fecal avatar.

Execute your movements with caution, since one error means beginning again. Leap using bubbles to launch your character higher, traverse crumbling platforms, and activate triggers to open new areas. Gather currency and use them on challenging game content in which gameplay gets crazy.

In terms of design, the experience shows off eye-catching level designs and catchy soundtrack. The retro art with shifting geometric shapes could recall fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's tough to think of similar titles where you play as a dung character, gaming have long incorporated toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, players craft throwables from character droppings. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize feces as soil enrichment. And of course, this theme is present extensively in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its silly idea, Unko Technica has already garnered notable accolades, like winning at Bandai Namco's game competition in 2023. A playable preview is available currently on Steam, with the full game planned to launch on Steam on November 19.
